What is the statute of limitations for personal injury claims in Florida?

In Florida, the statute of limitations for a personal injury claim is four (4) years from the date the injury-causing event occurred.  (See Florida Statutes Annotated § 95.11(3).)  Note, however, that if the injury occurred due to medical malpractice, then a different 2-year statue of limitations applies.  (See Florida Statutes Annotated § 95.11(4)(b).)
